First of all we strip the old roof down to the joists.
We then check that the timbers are in good condition and that the falls are flowing the correct way.
We then insulate if needed, we check all roofs for insulation and we top up if needed.
We then board the roof, all of our roof are installed with 18mm exterior ply, which is proven to work best with fiberglass. Once decked we add the preformed fibreglass trims to all the edges to suit any profile or detail.
Next the resin and fibreglass are applied bonding the centre roof to the edging trims creating the main waterproof layer. Once the fibreglass has cured it is then given a light sand to create a key for the top coat. The topcoat is applied to the whole roof leaving a smooth clean finish.

Preformed fibreglass edge trims
There are many different profile trims for all angles and edges of roofs difficult detailed work can be formed by hand. All of our trims are preformed and supplied by Scott Bader.
Drip trim - That sits into the gutter stopping any water running behind the gutter or fascia.
Raised edge trim - To stop water going down any edge of roof that it is not supposed to.
Flat trim - To seal at least 12 inches underneath the tiles.
Flashing trim - To sit 1 inch into the brickwork and sealed and overlapping a wall trim.
Wall trim - To create a seal between a wall and the roof.
Plywood - We use 18mm exterior plywood which is the best boarding to use with fibreglass as it gives a nice smooth continues board for the resin to bond to.
Fibreglass Matting - we use 450 mg which is the standard thickness for roofing, it is strong enough to walk on and has a slight flex to allow for movement when hot or cold.
Resin and Top Coats - we use Cystic Resin which provide high quality resins, gelcoats, bonding pastes and pigments? Products which can be relied upon to process easily, consistently and offer the best long-term performance?
